Meet Dave
Dave graduated from Mission High School in Fremont in 1978, joined the military and is proud to have served in the US Naval Submarine Service. Dave moved to Antioch in 1997 where he raised his family and had career in swimming pool design.
Dave’s father, Tom, began repairing sewing machines over 50 years ago at the request of his wife, Marge and the members of her weekly sewing group. The original Twice Nice Shop in the family garage in Fremont quickly grew in size and reputation.
Many years later Tom would ask Dave if he was interested in learning about sewing machines and Singer Featherweights, Dave jumped at the opportunity to spend more time with his father and learn his trade.
Twice Nice Sewing Machine Restoration in Antioch was open for business.
In April 2020 Dave was a KRON4 Local Hero – while COVID closed most businesses, Dave moved his sewing machine repair service out on the driveway and provided “free” “while you wait” simple services for sewing machines being used to make masks.
A long-time member of the Diablo Valley Orchid Society Dave has always been drawn to natural beauty, color and design.
